Catherine Aileen McClellan

February 22, 1957 — July 8, 2022

Catherine Aileen McClellan was called to heaven from her home in Edgewood NM on the morning of Friday July 8, 2022. She was 65 years old. Catherine was born in Redding CA on February 22, 1957. She is proceeded in death by her father Don Wilson, mother Aileen Everett, brother David Wilson, uncle Roy Cooley, and aunt Betty Cooley. She leaves behind her son US Army Sergeant Major Scott S. McClellan of Ft. Stewart GA and his family, daughter Shawnna C. Gravel, her husband Matt Gravel of Edgewood NM, and their family, and son Steven G. McClellan of Turlock CA and his family. She also leaves behind stepmom Leatha Wilson, brother Donald Wilson of Fiddletown CA, sister Marianne Shook of Ceres CA, and brother John Wilson of Ceres CA, and their families. Catherine also leaves behind nine grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Catherine fought her battle with Multiple Sclerosis for over 30 years. She fought that battle with courage, strength, dignity, honor, and grace, never once complaining. She always had a smile on her face for everyone she met and everyone who came to see her. She loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She loved mushrooms and the color purple. She enjoyed sipping her coffee in the morning and watching The Golden Girls with her grandsons. She also enjoyed watching The Walton's and often joked about wanting to try the Baldwins sister’s “recipe.” In the evenings she enjoyed eating her dessert of anything chocolate while watching Family Feud with her family. Catherine will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She requested that everyone remember the enjoyable times and celebrate her life, and to not mourn her death. Finally, from one of Catherine’s favorite shows Little House on the Prairie:

Remember Me

Remember me with smiles and laughter,

For that is the way I will remember you all.

If you can only remember me with tears,

Then do not remember me at all.

-Laura Ingalls Wilder
