D’ANGELO, Catherine E. (Kay)
Friends and family mourn the loss of Catherine E. D’Angelo, September, 22 1928 - October, 10 2017, Beloved mother, counselor, teacher, and friend. Kay was a remarkable woman who believed in the true value of friends and family. Her influence on the world will not soon be forgotten.
While a technician in the Army she developed a method of testing blood clotting that is still used today. As a counselor she was influential in establishing the New Mexico Citizens Council on Alcoholism and Substance Abuse. As a social worker she helped to develop the National Board of Social Work where she served as president for countless years. Most importantly, she taught us all how to truly be a friend. Kay always put her friends and family first and it showed in all the things she did for those she loved and cared about.
Catherine is survived by her son, and his family; her nieces and nephews; and all the friends she made her family over the years. Her passing will cast a shadow over all our lives, but memories of all she has done for us will bring joy to our hearts forever.
