Cassandra Myers-Warner of Albuquerque died peacefully, March 10, 2015, in the home she built with her husband and her dad. She was born November 28, 1953, in Findlay, Ohio to Norma Jean Nicholas Myers and Robert Evan Myers. Cassandra's Air Force family moved often throughout her childhood. She learned to swim in her grandfather's pool and went on to compete on the Great Falls Swim Team. She was named a Time Magazine Outstanding Youth Athlete for Montana, as well as a nationally ranked free-style long distance swimmer in high school. She earned an associate's degree in hotel management at Mesa Junior College, Grand Junction, CO, and met her husband while working at the front desk of the Fred Harvey Hotel in Albuquerque. She later completed her bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Albuquerque and worked many years for Baxter Healthcare in Albuquerque and New Jersey. She was honored with a national award by the company in 1994. In 2000, Cassandra began a career with United States Investigation Services, researching workers' pasts for security clearances. Cassandra was an officer and longtime member of the New Mexico Townspeople, a club dedicated to the display of Department 56 little houses. She loved Christmas decorating and entertaining year-round. She was an enthusiastic tourist who enjoyed her trips with good friends. She was a voracious reader who appreciated history and was adamant about preserving our national treasures. Since 2002, Cassandra was a passionate member of The Daughters of the American Revolution. She was inducted as New Mexico State Regent at the Washington, DC, Continental Congress in 2011. She served as the Charles Dibrell Chapter Regent and Northwest Region Director in the New Mexico State Organization of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband, Joe W. Warner; her mother; her sisters: Cynthia Myers-Morrison and Candace Myers, all of Albuquerque; her step-children, Stacey Swanson of Norco, CA and Brad Warner of Garden Grove, CA; step-grandchildren, Shannon Ribeiro of Chespekee, VA, Valerie Swanson of Norco, CA, and Scott Warner of Garden Grove, CA; her niece, Deidre Morrison of Shepherdstown, WV; her grandniece, Victoria Schaefer of Berkeley Springs, WV; her aunt, Claire Blurton of Reno, NV, and several cousins. Cassandra was grateful to Dr. Bernard Agbemadzo and all the wonderful nurses of the Presbyterian Oncology Clinic at Kaseman for their friendship and extraordinary care. Memorial Services will be held Monday, March 16, 2015, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the President General's Project, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution in Washington, DC (1776 D Street NW, Washington, DC 20006).
