Carri Ellen Craver was born Thursday, October 4, 1973, to her college-student parents, Jim and Carol Craver. She arrived at Seton Hospital in Austin, Texas, at 4:26 in the afternoon, ready to jump into life. Carri loved gymnastics as a child and had a habit of standing on her head every chance she got.
Her parents moved to Boston for her first year of life and to Raleigh, North Carolina, for her second year. As a preschooler, she and her family moved back to Greenville, Texas, where she loved her grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends. Carri loved playing soccer in Greenville and switched her passion to tennis when her family moved to Rockwall. USTA Junior Super Champs ranked Carri 14th in Texas when she was 14.
She graduated from St. Stephens Episcopal School in Austin, where she was the president of the student body her senior year. She went to Marquette University on a tennis scholarship and later transferred to the University of Texas, where she graduated in Radio, Television, and Film. She headed to Hollywood with a friend and worked for a talent agency. She loved to surf, play beach volleyball, and ride her skateboard to work.
Carri was a hard-driving, independent woman. She eventually moved back to Texas and became a UX (User Experience) website designer. She received the UX Moxie award for her commitment to contributing her time and skills to the tech community. Her passion was helping people who needed it, especially those who were unaware of how to help themselves. She helped many people in low-paying jobs by giving them online technical classes and encouraging them to reach their goals.
In the early days of Covid, she appeared on Good Morning America with her website, which helped people locate and obtain the vaccine. The Wall Street Journal and the MIT Technology Review also featured her story.

Carri helped the working poor and was developing a website to help low-wage earners get advice and legal help. She had three serious loves, one of whom took her to Africa on the Blue Train. She was never married. In recent years, Carri loved walking the dogs with her dad, being with family, and shouting out all the answers to Jeopardy! questions.
She is survived by her parents of Richardson; and by her brother, Brandon; her sister-in-law Vinka; and her nephew, Camilo, of Wakefield, Rhode Island. Carri is also survived by many loving relatives on both sides of her family. She was taken from this life at age 49 by a sudden cardiac arrest on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Her aunt Mary, Craver, who had been vacationing with her, held her hand as she left this life. Carri's memory is very much alive in those who love her.
A Memorial Service for Carri will be held at the Care Church, 1504 E. Campbell Rd., Richardson, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to:
