Carolyn Wilson

CAROLYN DARNELL WILSONAge 89, passed on to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on August 1, 2012. She was born on December 7, 1922 in Ft. Collins, CO and grew up on the family farm in Windsor. She attended Colorado State University where she met Frederick Stanley Wilson and fell in love. Carolyn followed Stan to Raleigh, NC where they were married on December 31, 1942 before he shipped out with the Army to the Philippines. Carolyn and Stan moved from their longtime home in Broomfield, CO to Albuquerque in 1987 and founded the Albuquerque Aquarium Association to raise money for the building of the aquarium. They both volunteered as aquarium docents for many years. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage before Stan passed away in 2007. Carolyn was a talented homemaker, seamstress and gardener and will be remembered most for being the best Wife, Mother and Grandmother that ever lived. She was fun loving and adventurous; kind and generous to all and had a great sense of humor. Carolyn is survived by her children, Kristin Risley of Santa Fe and Rick Wilson of California; and grandchildren, Eddie, Bryce and Mason Risley and David Wilson. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Zerelda Becker and Doris Osborne and her grandson, Devin Risley. Carolyn will be buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with her late husband.
