Carolyn Treadwell, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 8, 2018. Carol as she was known to many was very kind, warm-hearted, dedicated and loved her family. She also enjoyed gardening and decorating. Carol loved animals. Carol knew no strangers, and was friendly to everyone she met and ready to help any way she could. Carol is survived by her daughter, Marcia Treadwell; her sister, Camilla Avila and her husband, Larry; her grandson, Derek Esquibel and his wife, Lucilla; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Diego; special extended family, Dolores Hance and Rachel Hance; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Frank Fiske; her husband, Jack R. Treadwell; and her son, Rick Treadwell. Carolyn was born on November 5, 1932 in Cranston, MA. She grew up in Swansea, MA. Carolyn was a graduate of University of Massachusetts at Amherst, MA. She received her bachelor’s degree in Science in 1954. She was registered Dietitian. Her first job was at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City where she met her husband Jack Treadwell. She and Jack were married in 1957 Somerset, MA. She moved with Jack to Beaumont, TX, and later to Houston, TX and finally to Albuquerque, NM in December of 1973. She began working at Presbyterian Hospital in the Dietary Department, she left there to work at St. Francis Gardens Nursing Home as Dietary Manager for many years. She also worked for a couple of years a dietary manager at Orange Baptist Hospital in Orange, TX. And one year at The University of New Mexico as a dietary consultant. She retired from working in 1993. She was a faithful Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church and member of Twosome Sunday school class. She loved to read and later when she became blind she loved to be read to. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 315 Coal Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102 with reception to follow and interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
