Carolyn Irene Maxwell

Carolyn Irene Maxwell of Albuquerque, NM was born in Austin, TX on May 29, 1957 to Jimmy and Marlene Wier. As a young child she moved with her family to Phoenix, AZ where she lived during most of her school years. The family moved to El Paso, TX where Carolyn graduated from Highschool. Shortly after she completed HS the family moved to Albuquerque, NM. In Albuquerque, Carolyn met the love of her life, Gary Maxwell, and the two were married on September 15, 1979, and enjoyed more than 45 years of happiness together. Carolyn held numerous jobs in Albuquerque including hairdressing and working as a hostess for a local restaurant. She then went to work for the Bell Telephone Company where she was employed for 30 years. After retiring from the phone company, Carolyn went to work briefly at Walmart and then for eight years she was a cook with the Albuquerque public school system. Despite never having children of her own, Carolyn was a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews! According to Gary, Carolyn was a great cook and a lover of chocolate cake.

Carolyn and Gary were faithful members of Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque even before they were married and have attended there faithfully ever since. For many years Carolyn played her clarinet in the church orchestra.

Carolyn, age 67, stepped into her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Carolyn was reunited in heaven with her father and grandparents. Those who cherish her life and memory include her husband, Gary, her mother, Marlene Wier of Albuq, her siblings Jimmy Wier (Barb) and Pam Litwiller as well as brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. She also has many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and great nephews who will cherish her memory and her kind sweet spirit.

A celebration of her life will be held at Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque on March 10, 2025 at 11am,
