Carolyn Mady passed away quietly on April 3, 2022, with her family and friends surrounding her. Carolyn Barton Mady, born April 19, 1940, lived a full, beautiful, adventure-filled life.
Carolyn was a formidable woman with an amazing sense of humor and a beautiful laugh. She would defend those she loved and her beliefs passionately with her razor-sharp intellect. She could even beat her college-educated kids at Jeopardy. Her love languages were many, but she spoke true devotion through feeding her loved ones her amazing food.
Born in Canada, Carolyn met her first husband Fred in a Big Boy in Windsor, Ontario. One look was all it took. Together they raised three children. After Fred passed, Carolyn met her second love Neil Feinstein and they married when she was 79. They lived happily to the end.
Carolyn, or Grandma as she is better known, is survived by her loving husband Neil and her best friend, "soul sister," and partner in crime, Jeanette. She is also survived by her 3 children, Rhenee, Fred, and Hal, who she taught to be successful, outstanding citizens and to always remember who they are. Also missing her today are her 7 amazing grandchildren, each a beneficiary of her love and wisdom, and her 2 precious great-grandchildren for whom Grandma will never be forgotten.
A celebration of her life will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming. To celebrate the life of Carolyn Mady, the family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation to benefit Cancer Care. Gifts can be made—noting in memory of Carolyn Mady—online at
