Carolyn "Lyn" Hubbard Chamberlain

January 6, 1941 — April 10, 2025

Carolyn "Lyn" Hubbard Chamberlain, age 84, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away at home on April 10, 2025.

Lyn was born at Ft. Sill, OK, on January 6, 1941 to Harry Jenkins Hubbard, II, and Charlotte Nina (Hanson) Hubbard of El Paso, TX.

Lyn loved being an Army wife and was very active as such. Many people who knew Lyn and her husband said they were "The best husband-wife team in the Army". In addition to supporting her husband's work, she juggled and coordinated all of her children's many extracurricular activities and hobbies.

Lyn sincerely believed in the importance of giving back to society and was actively involved as a volunteer for a wide range of organizations throughout this time. Her most rewarding work was helping care for the "Benning Babies" - the orphans rescued from Saigon and airlifted to Ft.

Benning, GA, as American forces withdrew from Vietnam.

After retiring from the Army, they settled in Albuquerque, NM. Lyn joined the SONADO Women's Club and enjoyed being a member for many years. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church for 23 years. She enjoyed delivering meals for the Meals on Wheels program and was a long-time member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Craig Rothwell Chamberlain (COL, US Army, Retired), her parents Charlotte Hanson and Harry Jenkins Hubbard, II (COL, US Army, Retired), her brother Harry Jenkins Hubbard, III (COL, US Army, Retired) and her brother Jeffrey Hanson Hubbard.

Lyn is survived by her dear sister Barbara Hubbard McDonald of Zionsville, IN and her brother Bruce Bogel Hubbard of El Paso, TX, her dear daughter Charlotte Chamberlain Miller, son John Mark Chamberlain, and son Eric Lawrence Chamberlain, all of Albuquerque, NM, as well as 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
