Caroline Maestas

Caroline Maestas passed away peacefully on February 14, 2022.

She is survived by her children, Geraldine Maestas, James Maestas (Dolores Gallegos), Karen George (Bill), Arlene Maestas; grandsons, Joshua George (Hans Albrecht) and Zachary Vigil; brother, Manuel Sanchez; sister, Rosie Herrera; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; son, Paul; parents, Manuel and Sarah Sanchez; sister, Genevieve Baca; brother, Johnny Sanchez.

Caroline was born on November 4, 1932 in LeDoux, NM and graduated from Robertson High School in Las Vegas, NM. She met Frank when he was attending NM Highlands University. They were married in 1955. Caroline was a homemaker and worked part-time for the postal service. Caroline enjoyed playing board games, and spending time with her children and grandsons. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 10:00 followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11509 Indian School Road NE in Albuquerque.  A Reception will follow at the church and interment will take place at a later date.
