"The Apron Lady" passed away on August 2, 2013 after a long battle with alzheimers. Mom was born on September 23, 1918 in Falls River, MA. She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Herren and daughter Carole Herren. She developed a decade's long friendship with her customers at arts and crafts sales at various catholic churches and senior centers. She was an excellent craftsman, including sewing aprons, crocheting doilies and knitting afghans. She made and donated hundreds of aprons each year this is why she was called "The Apron Lady." She did many hundreds of hours of volunteer work at the V.A. Hospital. She is survived by her son Albert Herren and wife Mary Beth and grandson William Herren; son William Herren and wife Laura and grandson Albert Herren and wife Debbie; granddaughter Carole Lynn Brown and husband Ken; great-granddaughters Alyscia, Tiffany and Summer. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at FRENCH - University. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Road NW. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
