Caroline Brown

Caroline Brown, age 85, passed away, surrounded by love, at her home in Echo Canyon, Albuquerque, New Mexico, on November 11, 2018. Caroline was born on November 4, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York.

The youngest daughter to her parents who immigrated from Sweden in the 1920s, her family moved to Miller Place, Long Island, New York, in her early teens. Following graduation from high school, Caroline married her love, Elvin “Pip” Rogers Brown. Caroline and Pip moved to Echo Canyon, Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1974. Caroline is preceded in death by Pip, her parents, and one sister.

Caroline, who built her life around her family, was a devoted wife, homemaker, and partner to Pip in the business they built together. Caroline took great pride creating in a beautiful home for her family. She enjoyed walking in Echo Canyon, working in her year, and visiting with friends near and far over coffee and long phone calls. Generous in all senses of the word, Caroline always invited others in, took time to get to know people, and did what she could to help family, neighbors, and strangers, sharing the joy she had for life through her smile and laughter.  Caroline has been a devoted woman to her family. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Brown and Robin Fifer (husband Michael Fifer); grandchildren Robert Carmody, Susan Carmody, and Christopher Faivre (wife Tara); two great-grandsons; her sister, Margaret McMullen; and Caroline’s beloved cat, Hanna. Caroline will forever be loved and deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.

A gathering of family and friends will take place on Sunday, November 25, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Caroline’s home, in Echo Canyon. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in Caroline’s honor to the Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
