Carol Ruth Williams (known to her family and friends as Boopie) passed away Friday, October 22, 2021. She was born March 30, 1938, on the family farm in Mancos, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Gerald; parents, Fred and Adeline Dixon; brothers, Jim, Neal, and Kim Dixon; sisters, Evelyn Brown, and Jean Kroeger.
She is survived by son, Jerry Williams of Roswell, NM; daughter-in-law, Lela Williams of Hobbs, NM; brothers, Fred Dixon and wife, Arlene of Clovis, NM, John Dixon and wife, Mary of Pahrump Nevada; and sisters-in-law, Betty Dixon of Albuquerque, NM and Idell Williams of Orange, Texas; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchild and nineteen nieces and nephews.
Her family was the greatest joy of her life and she never tired of seeing them or spending time with them. She was a talented musician on many instruments, and especially enjoyed playing the piano for her fellow residents at Peachtree Village.
Her love, humor, and wit will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Viewing will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., FRENCH - Westside.
Burial will take place on Monday, November 29, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where she will at last be reunited with her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
