Carol J Singleton

May 20, 1935 — January 1, 2020

Carol J Singleton beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Wednesday, January 1st  2020.  Carol was born on May 20th 1935 in Kansas. She is survived by her husband Joe Sawyer, her son Randy Carlson, and nine grand and great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters (Dori Goss and Linda Woodward), and many cherished relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death her parents Mel and Lena Singleton, her son Bobby Carlson, and daughter Candy Ware.

Carol was a graduate of UNM with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. Carol was proud of all her accomplishments. However, attaining her degree was very important because it gave her the ability to become completely independent. Dental hygiene is where Carol thrived! Carol established special relationships with her patients and coworkers. Carol found balance in her life as she worked so she could play. When she wasn’t caring for her patients, she was passionate about staying fit by being outside, involved in both summer and winter activities. Carol was pint-sized but she was the terminator!  She was an avid downhill skier and was crazy about snorkeling in the Caribbean Sea. Carol’s green thumb was only outweighed by her creativity in the kitchen. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t cook, and her hospitality was genuinely extended to all who would join her. Carol was a generous and Godly woman. She volunteered at her church where she counseled strangers and friends in need. Her smile and sense of humor made anyone around her feel at ease.

Carol will always be remembered for her love for travel and especially Mexico where she was able to use her Spanish speaking skills daily. Carol and her husband Joe saw the world. There wasn’t a place they would not go! Carol adored Joe but most of all, Joe loved her! Joe spoiled Carol anytime he could! Once she became ill, he nurtured her, respected her, and loved her even more. Carol was grateful for Joe, for the family and friends who loved her, and for life.

Adios Carol, until we meet again!
