Carol Jean Dodson went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2015. Carol was a long time resident of Albuquerque where she worked as an administrative assistant at CNA Insurance Co. for more than 20 years. After retirement, she worked part time at the Presbyterian Hospital Gift Shop, where she enjoyed visiting with hospital visitors, patients, and employees. She was also a long time member of Sandia Baptist Church and had recently attended services at X Factor Christian Fellowship with her daughters. Carol was a very loving and compassionate mother, grandma, sister and friend. She had dedicated herself to helping her grandchildren, who were recently diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents, John and Wanita Champlin. She is survived by her daughters, Kari Dodson, Rachael Russell and husband Steve, and Michelle Padilla; grandchildren Kyle, Brayden, Makayla, and Jaxon. She is also survived by her sister Linda Hobart and husband Tom; her brother Doug Champlin and wife Judi and a number of other relatives and close friends. Services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Sandia Baptist Church, 9429 Constitution Ave., NE, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd., NE. Since the MDA was near and dear to her heart, memorial contributions can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association of New Mexico, 8121 Louisiana Blvd., NE Suite C, Albuquerque, NM 87113.
