Carol Jean Champion

Carol J. Champion, age 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1943, died Friday, December 22, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Porter Gene Champion; children, Barbara J. Thorn and husband, Fred R., and Brian W. Champion; three grandchildren, Debbie Revoir and husband, Chris, Mark Thorn and wife, Stephanie, and Chris Thorn and fiance, Lorilee Miracle; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Hoyum, Lexi and C.J. Revoir, and Austin and Jax Thorn, Caitlyn and Royse Baker; cousin, Bonnie Suazo; and many friends. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Helen Besser. She was born in 1935 in Kansas City, MO and moved to Albuquerque as a child where she met Gene at a church roller skating function. They were married on November 12, 1954. She was a long-time member of Highland Baptist Church and was active with the Keenagers at Monterey Baptist. Carol was active in the Albuquerque Square Dance Assoc. Carol was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, cousin, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Friends may visit FRENCH- Lomas on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. till a Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carol's name to Navajo Missions, 2103 W.
