Carmen "Pipina" Fernandez-Castro, 81, beloved wife and mother, was called to her eternal resting place on October 2, 2015. She entered this world on February 3, 1934 in Caracas, Venezuela, born to Rafael A. Fernandez-Rodriguez and Carmen J. Castro-Boyero. She is survived by her ex-husband, Luis Guillermo Vasquez-Bertorelli; and her children, Luis Guillermo, Claudia, Eugenia; and her grandchildren, Sara E., Andrea, and Daniel L.
Carmen loved freedom, nature, hummingbirds, chocolate, and great conversations. Despite her challenging physical condition towards the end of her life, she always kept her family and friends close to her heart. A private memorial service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Rest in peace, our beloved Mother.
