Carmel Griego

Carmel Griego, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Richard Griego and wife, Janet of Boulder. CO, Joan (Griego) Major and husband, John of Portland, OR, and Jimmy Griego of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Rachel Griego, Jonathan Griego, Sean Major, Michael Major and Justin Griego; sisters, Mary Cordova and Fela Duran, both of Albuquerque; and many nieces, nephews and relatives that will miss her dearly and carry her spirit in their hearts. Carmel is preceded in death by her husband, Juan D. Griego. Carmel spent many years as a kindergarten teacher's aide at Annunciation School and until she suffered a debilitating illness was active in choir, liturgy and many Annunciation Parish activities. "Do small things with great love" (Mother Teresa) was how Carmel lived her life. Rosary will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, 7:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming. Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, 2014, 8:30 a.m., at Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont NE 87110, with Rev. Bennett Voorhies, Celebrant.
