Carlota "Charlotte" Garcia

Carlota "Charlotte" Garcia (née Segura), 85, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1939 in Cerro, New Mexico, to Procopio and Maria Segura, Charlotte married Benito Garcia, a USMC veteran, in 1961 and later moved to Southern California.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Throughout her life, Charlotte cherished time spent with loved ones and was an active member of Our Lady’s Rosary Makers and Blankets and Booties. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the casino, reading, engaging in arts and crafts, and watching Lifetime Movies, all while taking pleasure in working around her home and praying the rosary.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Benito, and her son, Michael. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Richard) Maddux, Teresa (Carlos) Lopez, and Jennifer Garcia, as well as her six beloved grandchildren: Carlos and Elizabeth Lopez, Bridget Maddux, and Ethan, Tessa, and Elijah Garcia. Vaya con Dios our sweet Mama. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The rosary will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by the Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will take place on October 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
