Carl Harold Ross was born December 12, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri to Harold and Vera Louise Ross. He was the third child and first son born to this union. He precedes both parents in death.Carl was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District. He attended Sanford B. Ladd Elementary School, Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School and graduated from Central High School. In the summer of 1975 he attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri where he met and married Carol on August 9, 1980. Carl graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering in the fall of 1980. At the age of 20, Carl was asked by his sister, Elaine, to attend church one evening. With hesitancy, Carl spoke to God and said "If there is a God, I want to see a miracle." God told Carl, "Some miracles you can't see, but can feel." That moment, God put a lasting miracle in his heart, a Love for Jesus, and Carl loved Jesus ever since. He was proud to say, "I never sent my children to church; I went with them." He believed that after God, family came first. His advice for a long marriage is "Pick and choose your battles." In Kansas City, Carl attended Pentecostal Church of God In Christ and Trinity Temple. In Albuquerque, his church home was Triumph Centre at Bethel. In 1981, Carl began his career at Honeywell (formally Bendix). Although he worked as an intern the previous summer, he was told no jobs were available, but God made a way. Carl provided a wonderful home for his wife and their three children while in Kansas City. In 1999, he was accepted into Honeywell's Weapons Intern Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As in Kansas City, Carl formed lasting relationships with friends and co-workers in Albuquerque. He was employed at Honeywell for 32 years. Carl gave God all the glory for his career at Honeywell. In his forties, Carl developed a love for the art of karate and earned a second degree Black Belt. After being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in 2010, Carl never complained, but praised God for being good, loving and the master of his life. At the Ross Family Reunion in 2010, Carl said that "If God doesn't heal me, He is still my God." He loved sharing God's word with others and rejoiced when someone gave their life to God. On Friday, May 10, 2013, God decided Carl's journey and work on this earth was done and transitioned him to his heavenly home. This Man of Valor has left beautiful memories for his wife of 32 years, Carol Diane Ross, son Carl Harold Ross, Jr., daughters Carmen Diane Ross and Christine Louise Ross and grandsons Cerron Ross and Godson Ross; his parent, Harold and Vera Louise Ross, who will continue to cherish the time he was loaned to them by God.
