Calvin passed from this life on 12/03/15, age 91. Born in Corbett, OK, his family moved to Albuquerque in 1939 and he graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1942. Calvin served in WWII in the 410th Infantry (Medical Detachment) in France, Austria, and Germany. After the war, he returned to work at Albuquerque National Bank. He married Mary Elizabeth Botwinis in 1949. In 1955, Calvin opened a State Farm agency on Fourth Street, where he and Mary Elizabeth enjoyed working with their State Farm colleagues and wonderful clients for 44 years. With diligent study, he earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. Calvin enjoyed photography and has been fascinated with computers since the 1970s. After retirement, he volunteered at Duranes Elementary, helping kids learn to use computers.
Calvin was predeceased by his parents (J. C. and Oca Mae Williams), his three sisters (Mary Elsie, Alice, and Hazel) and his wife. He is survived by sons, Dr. James C. Williams of Arlington, TX and Steve of Albuquerque as well as nieces and nephews and his aunt, Mrs. Virgie Howard. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chester T. French Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE with burial following at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 315 Coal Ave. SW, 87102.
