Byron A. Hock passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the age of 83. Byron was born to Flora Belle (Ball) Hock and Ernest L. Hock on May 16, 1930 in Tiskilwa, Illinois. He graduated from Lake Worth High School of Lake Worth, Florida in 1949. Byron enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served for four years during the Korean Conflict. While stationed at Sheppard AFB, Texas, Byron married Betty Jo Rutherford on January 9, 1954 at Jean Baptist Church in Jean, Texas. He attended the Capitol Radio Engineering Institute (now Capitol College) in Washington DC and was then employed for 35 years at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque. Byron was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Herbert Hock and Wilton Hock; and two sisters, Letha Harris and Joanna Brown Underhill. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo, of Albuquerque; daughters, Tina Marie Sumner and husband Mike, of Albuquerque, and Cindy Suzanne Parker and husband James, of Warner Robins, Georgia; one sister, Florence Self of Palm Springs, Florida; four grandchildren, Will Sumner, Trenton Sumner, Kendall Sumner, all of Albuquerque, and Taylor Parker of Warner Robins, GA. A Memorial Reception will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming.
