Byron Lawrence Hastings

Byron "Tim" Hastings, age 92, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022. Tim was born in Houston, Texas to Byron L Hastings Sr. and Eleanor Hastings, Wednesday, October 23, 1929. He was the oldest of three siblings and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri with brothers, Bryce and Charles. Byron graduated from Webster Groves High School in St. Louis Missouri and attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Byron entered the United States Army in 1951 and served in Korea until the late stages of that war. He began work at Roy Wenzlick & Co. Real Estate appraisers St Louis office and subsequently in offices in Jackson, Mississippi; Kenner, Louisiana; and Riverside, California. Byron was assigned to appraise real estate in downtown Anchorage Alaska after the March 28, 1964, earthquake that measured 9.2 on the Richter Scale.

Byron and Laura, his wife, were married on Sunday, December 28, 1958. They were married 58 years. They were both avid bridge players, golfers, and world travelers. Byron was preceded in death by his wife, Laura; brother, Charles; and by his mother and father, Eleanor and Byron L. Sr. He is survived by his sons, Tom and George; brother, Bryce; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his entire family.
