Brian McCaughey Lynch

Brian McCaughey Lynch died Saturday, November 23, 2024 at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He was born on February 12, 1965 to his parents, Patrick Noel and Eleanor Patricia Lynch. He is survived by his wife Clare Lynch and her sons Albert Mestas(deceased), Jody Mestas, Joshua Mestas (Sara), and their grandchildren, Zachary, Rhiannon, Raphael, Hailey Rose, Ezra and Avery. He is also survived by siblings Mary, Eileen, Sheila, Jack (Joy) and Patrick (Tracy) Lynch and, nieces and nephews Na Lynch-Shaw, Aine Lynch-Shaw, Celi Khanyile-Lynch, James Lynch Sullivan, John (Megan Chen), Bethany (Tim Leonard), Katie Lynch; also by his godfather, Jim Blaney, and in Ireland by his aunt Kathleeen Dorgan and uncle Jer Lynch, and many dear cousins on both sides of the Atlantic. He also leaves behind his beloved dogs.

Brian was a Retired Captain with Bernalillo County Fire and Rescue, a member of Albuquerque Area Firefighters IAFF Local 244 and a Flight Paramedic with University of New Mexico Hospital Lifeguard. He began his career in his hometown of Chicago working for Berz Ambulance before moving to New Mexico. He was also an artist who leaves a collection of drawings, and wood and marble carvings.

Donations to support cancer patients can be sent to a special fund that was established by the International Cancer Advocacy Network to honor Brian for his involvement in clinical trials to advance research for future patients - link below.

A public visitation will be held for Brian on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 1-5pm at French Funerals and Cremations- 10500 Lomas Blvd NE.

A celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation on December 7th from 4-9pm at the IAFF Local 244 Union Hall- 4100 Edith Blvd NE

Brian's funeral will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024 from 10-11:30am at French Funerals and Cremations- 10500 Lomas Blvd NE.
