Brian P. Garriffa, 65, beloved Husband, was called to his eternal resting place on March 30, 2016. He entered this world on November 21, 1950 in Sheridan, WY, born to Philip and Doris Garriffa. He is survived by his wife Martha Watkins Garriffa; his daughters Colleen Garriffa and Michelle Garriffa, Vernae White (Eric White) and Lamae Koogler (Paul, deceased); his grandchildren, Michael, Dee and Lakya Garriffa, Jordan Garriffa, Courtney Koogler O'Connor (Daniel), Kimberly Koogler and Ryan Koogler (Heather), Jarrett White and Zoe White; five great grandchildren; and his brother David Garriffa and sister-in-law Renee Garriffa (Colby, Casey and Chelbe). Brian is preceded in death by his parents Philip and Doris Garriffa.
Brian served in the US Navy and graduated from Sheridan Community College. He worked for the VA Medical Center for 34 years in Sheridan, WY, Anchorage, AK and San Antonio, TX. He was a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist and loved working with his patients. He retired in 2007.
Brian was known as a man of God, who served in his church. He was an avid golfer and bowler (won the Texas State Championship in his division). Most of all, he loved spending time with his cherished Martha and pet dog Marshmellow.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 p.m. at Family Church, 6521 Paradise Blvd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. Committal Service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 9:45 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Pastor J.R. Ruiz and Pastor Michael Winakur (nephew).
