Brian Colhoff, age 58, loving father and husband, surrounded in love by his family, made his peaceful journey to the Spirit World, on Friday, February 25, 2022. Brian was born in Pine Ridge, South Dakota and proud to be an Oglala Lakota Sioux. He was always humble in nature and appreciative of what mattered most in life. His infectious sense of humor gave us a life full of memories, laughter, and togetherness as a family. Brian's quiet, easy-going demeanor masked his inner strength to confront many health complications throughout the years without complaint, but with remarkable humility and determination. Anyone who knew Brian was fortunate to feel his genuine kindness and light. Brian was taken too soon from life. We will miss him deeply, but love him beyond forever.
Brian is survived by his wife of 28 years, JoAnn Colhoff; his daughter, Maya Colhoff; and his sons, Woniya Colhoff and Wakiya Colhoff. He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Colhoff, and Virginia Horn, both from Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and his brother-in-law, Matt Richardson, along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding Brian in death is his father, Mervin Colhoff; his mother, Ramona Two Bulls-Colhoff; his sisters Pamela Colhoff and Charlene Richardson, and niece, Manna Dillon.
A service to honor Brian's life will be held on Monday, March 14, 2022, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 5712 Paradise Blvd NW Albuquerque beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a rosary, followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Service will also be livestreamed at
