Brian Keith Bentley passed away peacefully on January 9, 2024, at age 67. He was born on December 15, 1957. He loved racing his cars (Mopar) and working on them and then he began breeding thoroughbred racehorses on his Bentley Farm in Los Lunas. He played softball for decades and loved to bowl. He was bowling right before they stopped for the Holidays and his team won both the first and second half of his league last year! He was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan to the end!
He had dozens of friends from at least the first grade if not earlier and from GE where he retired, who were still there for him until the end. He was a very generous soul, and he was repaid by the kindness of those who loved him. He was very fortunate to have the help of his many friends who are too many to name, but I hope you know who you are and how much he and his family loved and appreciated you.
He is survived by his son, Brian Shane Bentley (wife, Margaret) and granddaughter, Jayde and her children, (his great-grandchildren) Adalynn and Paislee; granddaughters, Kelly and Clover and grandson, Hunter. He is also survived by his three sisters, Joy Orr, Kathy Fortune and Judy Bentley. Three nieces, Karla McKenna (Husband Conor) and their daughter, Katie; Serena Greene (husband, Paul) and their 4 children, Madison and her daughter, Charlotte; Austin, Christian and Morgan; Shanna Scott (husband, Kary) and her 3 children, Rafe, Ilyza, and Aurora; 2 nephews, Tony Waters (wife Kailey) and their daughter, Audree, and Rowdy Orr (wife, Brandy) and his 3 children, Rebel, Justin and Mikayla. He is also survived by his good friends, Emma Miramontes and her son, Elio, and Jenny Holmes, also several horses, cats, dozens of chickens, and roosters.
He was a great brother, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and we already miss his interesting conversations and humor.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ranger's Legacy Equine Rescue in Roswell. We are an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in good standing with the IRS. Your support and tax-deductible gifts (EIN# 32-0357825) enable us to feed and care for the horses here at RLER. It will also help us in our mission to educate the public on the proper care and feeding of their own horses. If we can keep just one horse out of our facility due to a lack of knowledge, then we are accomplishing our goal. Donate https://rangerslegacy.com/donate
