Brett Webster

Age 29, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Tuesday October 9, 2012. Brett is survived by his mother, Debbie Contreras of Albuquerque; brother Nicholas Contreras of Albuquerque; maternal grandmother Mildred Gilcrease of Albuquerque; cousin Shauna Stillwell of Blue Spring MO; niece Paisley Contreras of Albuquerque. Along with numerous family members and beloved friends. Brett was preceded in death by his father Michael B. Webster; brother Michael H. Webster; and grandfather (pa) Arthur H. Gilcrease. Brett graduated from Sandia High School and attended UNM and CNM. He graduated the Sandia Civilian Police Academy, PSA Academy and was accepted into the Police Academy. He was unable to graduate due to physical injuries, but continued working for the Police department. Brett loved to play games, he enjoyed listening to all types of music, reading, fishing, camping and was a wonderful chef. Roller coasters were his passion. He was looking forward to getting his pilot's license. His family was his greatest joy and he was always there to give his love and a helping hand. He never turned down a chance to help a friend or stranger. His dry wit and sense of humor brightened any occasion. He loved playing practical jokes and would keep you laughing for hours with his stories. His best bud was "Rufus" his cat. Brett never met an enemy. He was a very kind, loving, loyal and a courageous man. He was taken far too early. He will be remembered by all who knew him with great love, respect and admiration. Services will be held Monday, October 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the French Wyoming Chapel with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Contreras, Todd Hager, Stephen McCorry and the police honor guard. Honorary pallbearers are too numerous to list.
