Bonnie Hill

Hill, Bonnie Bonnie, age 83, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, April 11, 2014. She is survived by her sons, Leon (Cheryl) Hill of Japan, Richard Hill of Minnesota, and George (Sheri) Hill of Salida, Colorado; her daughter, Claudia (Johnathan) Steinhauser of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jeffrey Hill, Abigail Konno, Tyler Hill, Joshua Hill, and Courtney Hill; sister, Marjorie Kujala; brothers, William (Joyceann) Braisted, Staryl (Shirley) Braisted, and Leon (Sylvia) Braisted; brother-in-law, Paul Morrison; sister-in-law, Florence Anderson; and many other relatives and friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Howard Hill; sister, Lenore Morrison; brother, Richard (Jean) Braisted; and brother-in-law, Earl Anderson. Bonnie was born on June 3, 1930 in Walled Lake, MI to Leon and Ruth Braisted. She attended Mounds Midway School of Nursing, as well as the University of Minnesota. After being employed as a clinical nurse, she went on to teach nursing, and then finally to having a successful private counseling practice. She was a ferocious studier of the human condition and the layers of personalities in people. People were naturally drawn to her because of her genuine interest in helping others. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Foothills Fellowship Church, 12504 Candelaria Rd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. All are invited to attend. A private burial has taken place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family would like to thank Lori Box of Albuquerque. Lori and Bonnie were good friends and she supported Bonnie and Bonnie's family in a quiet and constant way during the ups and downs of Bonnie's health challenges. Carol Hammans, Georgia Chavez, Daisy Williams, and Rosemarie Briggs were also part of Bonnie's traveling support and they always were there, no matter what hospital, what facility, or what house Bonnie was staying at the moment. Her family can't say thank you enough. Bonnie truly appreciated all her friends, and her family takes great comfort in knowing that she knew she was loved and she will be greatly missed by so many.
