Bob Smith

d. May 13, 2017

Bob Smith, born 1938, passed away at Sunrise on May 13, 2017. He is survived by his beloved and cherished wife of 57 years, Vikki Smith; his daughter, Cindy Smith and her daughter, Victoria; as well as his son, Barry Smith, his wife, Leslie, and their son, Grant. Bob was a Great husband, father, and grandfather who cherished all of his survivors. He will be deeply missed by ALL.

Bob was born in Texas and moved to New Mexico in 1955. Although Albuquerque was his "home"; Texas was an integral part of his character!

Bob attended Highland High, Lovington High, as well as UNM (where he met his Soul Mate, Vikki).

Bob was a hardworking, conservative man who believed in the principles of honesty and fairness. In 1962 he founded Albuquerque Duplicator Supply, and along with his brother, Jerry Smith (deceased), grew the company into a successful business that is still thriving today. It is operated by his niece, Laurie Smith Aragon and her husband, Mark. Both of who were devoted friends of Bob.

Bob was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors. He participated in hunting, fishing, skiing, running, and all outdoor sports. Bob was an athlete at heart and staying active was a part of his daily routine.

Tragically, Bob was stricken with Alzheimer Disease several years ago. He thrived for many years due to of the devotion of his wife Vikki as well as their tremendous support group of family, friends, relatives, and the members of St. John’s Methodist Church. A partial list is as follows: John, Martha, and John Charles Bundrant, Jerry and Sharon Geist, the Mark and Laurie Aragon Family, the Linda and Tom Byrne Family, the Francis Doty Family, the Brad Gibbs Family, Pastor Craig Cockrell and the entire St. John’s Methodist Church Family, the staff and friends at Casa Del Norte, as well as many devoted friends and neighbors.

Bob was a giving man, he was always available to help others, solve problems, or just be a friend: HE WILL BE MISSED!

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona St. NE, for all who wish to attend. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
