Bob R. Henderson

Henderson, Bob R. Bob R. Henderson, 85, died August 21, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Goldie; his son, Jon Henderson and wife, Rebecca; grandchildren, Robert, Gregory, Margaret and husband, Tom Illingworth; great grandchildren, Annie and Tommy; and many other family and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Inez Henderson; his sister, Margaret and his brother, Ken. He served in the United States Army for over 20 years before retiring as a Lt. Colonel and was a long time teacher and baseball coach at Sandia High School retiring in 1985. Bob especially enjoyed traveling with his wife. He is known for his wood carving, creating Santa Clause carvings and many other special wood carvings. Bob was a member of the Rio Grande Wood Carvers and the New Mexico Woodturners. Friends may visit Wednesday, August 26, 2015, 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Services will be Thursday, August 27, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas with burial to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 North Beauregard Street Alexandria, VA 22311, .
