Blanca Alicia Garcia

Blanca A. Garcia, 77. Our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother passed away peacefully on February 19, 2022. She entered this world on June 6, 1944, born to Nicolas and Reynalda Ortega. She is survived by her husband Fernando M. Garcia; sons Fernando M. Garcia Jr., Hector A. Garcia, Victor A. Garcia, and Hugo R. Garcia; daughters-in-law Michele Garcia and Vanessa Garcia; grandchildren Andres Garcia, Annalise Garcia, Cristian Garcia, Emily Garcia, and Gabriel Garcia; granddaughter-in-law Katie Garcia; and great-granddaughter Holley Garcia.

Born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, Blanca's life later brought her to Juarez, Mexico, where she and Fernando married. She spent many years in El Paso, Texas before finally settling with her husband and children in Albuquerque, NM in 1986.

Blanca was passionate about her Catholic faith, family, and gardening in her yard. Blanca was an advocate of education, earning her Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Mexico in 1999. She was also an accomplished professional, retiring from the University of New Mexico after many years of employment as an Accountant. After her retirement, she dedicated her time to Risen Savior Catholic Church as a volunteer, and loved to play tennis and practice yoga.

Blanca, the youngest of 12 children, all of whom proceeded her in death, held immense love for her siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Faith and family were her greatest joys, making her an inspiration to others, a pillar in both her familial and church communities. She was a role model in many ways to so many people.

A Rosary will be held Monday, February 28, 2022, at 6pm, with visitation at 5pm at FRENCH-Wyoming, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Funeral Mass to be held at Risen Savior Catholic Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 9:30am. Burial follows the mass at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE, 87109.
