Birdie Lee (Alexander) Parrish

Birdie Parrish, age 94, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. She is survived by her daughters, Sabrina Parrish Jackson (Michael Jackson) and Charnia Parrish. Her loving husband, Charles; and daughter, Pamela preceded her. Her one remaining sibling is brother, Ralph Alexander (Lu Alexander). She has several nieces and nephews that she dearly loved as well as friends who were welcomed as part of the family.

She was a talented artist who majored in Art and minored in English at Tennessee State University. She met her husband there. Together they had five children; three survived.

Birdie was an educator who taught ages K-12 during her career. She accepted several long term assignments as a substitute teacher for APS, including terms at Albuquerque and Highland High School.

Her lifelong faith in God shaped her beautiful character that was noticed by all. She sang her first solo at an AME church when she was seven. She continued to sing God's praises the rest of her life.

Many were touched by her kindness. She loved her work with children and would fondly recall many of them. Although she will be missed here on earth we rejoice in the knowledge that she is home.

Her Celebration of Life will be held at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Rd NE, 87109 Tuesday, January 31, 2023. Viewing at 10:00 AM, service at 10:30 AM. Donations to reloadlove.com to support children are encouraged.
