Billy C. Brock, age 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1977, died Thursday, January 4, 2018.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janet; children, Waurika Ann Brock and Charles Brock; sister-in-law, Carolyn F. Moore; his in-laws, the Shotton Clan; and numerous other relatives and friends. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Waurika Brock; and brother, Ralph H. Brock.
He was born in 1949 in Amarillo, TX and raised in the Spearman, Tahoka, and Lubbock areas, graduating from Tahoka High School in 1968. He then attended Texas Tech in Lubbock where he obtained his Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate degrees. Billy married Janet Shotton in March 1974 and they moved to Albuquerque where he went to work for Sandia National Laboratories, retiring in 2015. Billy loved photography, astronomy, music, and spending time outdoors. Billy's amateur radio call sign was WB5RSP, which he spent many hours on. He was a long-time member of St. John's United Methodist Church where he taught 5th grade Sunday School for twenty years. He was a very patient, kind, and gentle person who was always able to fix just about anything. Billy was a devoted husband, loving father, and friend to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Friends may visit Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. till 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 8, 2018, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Billy's name to CLL Global.org or Friends of the Bosque.org.
