Billie Werntz

Billie Ruth (Springer) Werntz passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at the age of 97. Born September 15, 1917, Billie grew up in Las Vegas, NM where her father worked for the Charles Ilfeld Company. Billie moved to Albuquerque in 1936 to attend the University of New Mexico. She graduated in 1940. While at UNM, Billie was a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She remained a loyal and active alumna, and received her 75 year pin in 2012. Billie is survived by her two sons, Joseph L. Werntz, III and daughter-in-law Kim, and William P. Werntz and daughter-in-law Lillian; grandchildren, Kristen, Jessica and Kari Riche; and step granddaughter, Andrea Valdez. Billie is also survived by her loving and devoted sister, Patricia Springer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph L. Werntz II; father, William H. Springer; mother, Kathleen Springer; and brother, Jack Springer. The family wishes to thank Doreen Barela, Senovia Barela, and Amy Mize for their loving care and devotion to Billie in the last years of her life. Please join us for a celebration of her earthly life and her new life with the Lord on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel, 4001 Osuna Road, NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
