Barry, Beverly L. Beverly lost her five year fight with breast cancer on May 23, 2014, returning peacefully to her Lord while at home. She was born in Pueblo, Colorado on February 9, 1955 and attended Catholic schools throughout her primary and secondary education. She was the only daughter of Lucille (DiPrince) and Walter Boese, both of whom preceded her in death. She married her husband of 38 years, Deacon William Barry on September 25, 1976, and graced their home with two sons, Kevin William and Sean Liam. She followed her husband through 21 years of military travels, remaining behind on several occasions with the children when duty called him away. She was a lifelong Roman Catholic, assisting with the RCIA program, teaching and sponsoring adults wishing to become Catholic, for nearly 20 years. An accountant by training, she worked for several auto dealerships, the most recent being Galles and Davis here in Albuquerque until her illness forced her retirement. She selflessly gave her consent for her husband to accept ordination as a deacon in the Catholic Church, knowing that it meant sharing him with the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. She is survived by her husband Bill, both sons, Kevin and his wife Lindsey, and Sean, 8 grandchildren, her brothers Wayne and his wife Debbie, and Dorian and his wife Lorrie, plus numerous friends that are like family to her. Special thanks goes out to the men and women of the Presbyterian Cancer Treatment Center, the loving and caring staff of the Hospice In-Patient facility at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital, the men and women at the MD Anderson Treatment facility, and especially Dr. Diane Polasky, MA, OMD, DOM,and to Sandy Miller, RN, and her associates who provided loving care and encouragement during Bev's home hospice care. Rosary and vigil will be celebrated at the Shrine of St. Bernadette on Friday, June 6th at 6:30 PM, with the Mass of Christian burial celebrated the following day at 9:00 AM with Fr. Leo Padgett, pastor of St. Bernadette's as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Shrine or to the breast cancer research foundation of your choice. A private ennichement at Mt. Cavalry cemetery will take place at a later date.
