Betty J. Wilson

Betty was born May 23, 1934 in Portales, New Mexico. Her parents were S. Tom and Ora (Guffy) Jernigan.

The family moved to Santa Fe when she was 4 years old. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Religious Education from Hardin Simmons University, Abilene, TX. She spent most of her adult life working at the Baptist Building in Albuquerque as an employee of the Baptist Convention of NM or the NM Baptist Foundation, retiring in September, 1997.

She married Robert C. (Bob) Wilson on July 6, 1958. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Rio Rancho at the time of her death.

In addition to her husband Bob, the following survive her: sons, Bill and wife Twila Galanis, Charlie and wife Gail, Ted and wife Deanna, and Kenneth and wife Lisa; six granddaughters, five grandsons, one great-grandson, and one great-granddaughter.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Tom and Ora Jernigan, and siblings, Leora Wallace, Max Jernigan, and Rex Jernigan.

In honor of Betty's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no memorial service.
