Betty Torres, age 84, a loving wife and mother, returned to her Lord in Heaven Thursday, October 29, 2015. Betty was known for kindness, generosity and positive outlook towards life. Betty was an avid sports fan, who particularly loved watching baseball, but found the most joy in watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their sports endeavors. She was also a very proud member of her Morales family, and shared a very special bond with her siblings. Betty was loved by anyone who met her, and her home was always open to friends and family, where you were sure to find a warm welcome and something homemade to eat.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Lucas Torres; four children, Betty Ann Vallejos and husband, Alvin, Bertha Torres, Mary Constancia and husband, Ralph and Luke Torres and wife, Susan; four grandchildren, Luke Montoya, James Chavez, Fredrick Constancia and Amanda Trujillo; Six great-grandchildren, Samantha Montoya, Carson Constancia, James Chavez, Jarrett Montoya, Lawrence Trujillo, Jr. and Diego Trujillo; brothers, Jesse and Rudy Morales; and two sisters, Roberta Gonzalez and Vera Olvera. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalia and Concepcion Morales; four brothers, Concho Morales, Jr., Albert Morales, Sr., Morris Morales, Sr. and Jimmy Morales; and two sisters, Beatris Morales and Mary Guerrero. A visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - University. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, 9:00 a.m., Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos Rd NW. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE.
