Betty Will Othmer

March 24, 1920 — July 20, 2016

Betty Will Othmer died peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 20, 2016. She was born on March 24, 1920, to Margaret and Ralph Will. Betty's life has been one of devotion to God, family and friends. She grew up on a farm in Iowa and moved to town when the depression hit. She attended Catholic schools and then worked until she fell in love and married during World War II. She was a professor's wife at Iowa State University until their third child came along. They moved to Albuquerque in 1955. An active volunteer, she was President of the Women's Guild when the church transitioned from mission status to Our Lady of Annunciation Parish. She was also very active in Cosmopolitan Club, chairing numerous committees over the years. Betty was an excellent cook and often experimented with new recipes. She was an avid bridge player and belonged to many bridge clubs, several of which she was a founding member. Most of all, Betty was a devout Catholic and devoted wife and mother. She led an exemplary life and truly was one of the greatest generation. She will be sorely missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Othmer; her son, Craig Othmer; her granddaughter, Barbara Sheehi; her sister, Dorothy Bisesi and brother-in-law, Peter Bisesi.
