Betty Lemen

Betty Lemen, age 90, died on November 17, 2014 after a long illness. A long-time resident of New Mexico, she was born in Oklahoma and was raised in northern Missouri. She was one of five siblings, all of whom preceded her in death. She married Ura Lemen (Lem), the love of her life, and had four children, one of whom died shortly after birth. Her three children, Urey, Cliff and Ellen, survive her, as do three grandchildren, Kestrel, Marsh and Rachel. After her children were grown, Betty completed her BA in Education at UNM, and then earned her MA. She taught at Eldorado High School for several years and then retired in 1985. She was an avid reader, gardener and dabbled in several art forms such as painting and pottery. She was an intelligent, understanding, loving, and giving mother and grandmother, and she will be missed. The family wishes to thank the caregivers who so devotedly took care of her during her last years. Services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014, 10:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming.
