Betty Jeanne Cravens, 93, a longtime resident of Prescott and Scottsdale, Arizona, died October 13, 2015 at the home of Tom and Linda Polachek in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born in Healdton, Oklahoma on May 19, 1922, Betty moved to Enid, Oklahoma at the age of six months. She lived there until she met her husband, Denver. After marrying, they lived in Sherman, Texas, before moving to Arizona in the late 1940's.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Polachek and husband Tom of Albuquerque, NM; her grandchildren, Mindy McCartney and husband Jeffery of Scottsdale, AZ, Jessica Stephens and husband Ed of Rio Rancho, NM, and Tylor Torres of Las Vegas, NV; three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Abigail, and Oliver Stephens, all of Rio Rancho, NM and many nieces, nephews, great, and great-great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cravens was preceded in death by her husband, Welby Denver Cravens; sister, Virginia Lee Beal; brothers Sam Faris and Fred Faris and her parents, Berta and Sam Faris.
Betty and Denver moved to Prescott and opened their antique business, Drake Depot Antiques, after retiring from their 30-plus year residence in Phoenix and Scottsdale, AZ. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Westside.
