Betty Louise Bullington passed away peacefully on May 29, 2015 in Albuquerque. Betty was born on February 8, 1930 in Anson, TX to James Audrey and Allie Mae Barnes. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1947 and graduated from West Texas State University with a teaching degree. She was an elementary school teacher in Dalhart, TX and then moved to Lubbock, TX where she met USAF Lt. Robert J. Bullington in 1955, whom she married that same year. After honeymooning at Bishop's Lodge in Santa Fe, NM over Thanksgiving weekend, Betty and Bob resided in Lubbock, TX until 1959. Betty and Bob later moved to Dayton, OH where Bob received his MBA and where they adopted their son, James David. Betty, Bob and James David then moved to Okinawa, Japan for 30 months, and later resided in Fairfield, CA for five years and Belleville, IL for nine years before moving to Albuquerque in 1977. Betty donated over 26,000 hours of her time as a patient assistance volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque and spent countless hours sewing by hand 12,734 baby stocking caps and 8,911 stuffed dachsunds for the newborn infants. She enjoyed playing tennis, she loved dachsunds, and she had a heart of gold, which finally gave out from providing too much love. She is survived by her husband of 60 years USAF Col. (retired) Robert J. Bullington, her son James David "J.D." Bullington and her daughter in-law Gabriella Luna Bullington. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
