Betsy Joyce Sheets

Age 85, a resident of Albuquerque, was born in Phoenix, AZ on June 16, 1928, and passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 3:56 a.m.. She was a member of the Cum Laude Society and Senior Class President of Marymount High School in Los Angeles, CA. Betsy also attended Dominican University in San Rafael, CA. Her time and energy were given to her greatest priority, the care and guidance of her six children from her two marriages to Donald Coffin of Los Angeles and Robert Lee Sheets of Albuquerque. Betsy will be remembered for her deep spirituality and commitment to her Catholic faith, and her devotion to her six children. Her intelligence, courage, compassion and good humor, especially in the face of illness and adversity, is a lasting legacy for those she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry J. Sullivan and Aileen Ganz Sullivan, and both of her husbands. Betsy is survived by her children, Donna Coffin (Linda) of Clarkdale, AZ, Philip Coffin and Christopher Sheets, Roberta Mikus (Kenny) all of Albuquerque, Sharla Geist of Alta Loma, CA, and Darla Sheets (Ray), also of Albuquerque; her grandchildren, Christy Sheets, J. Anthony Martinez, Joseph Geist, Desiree Graetz, Corrine Valdez, Ashley Martinez, Olivia Sheets and Arthur Lopez; and six great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be recited Sunday, August 18, 2013, 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, August 19, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community Church, 4831 Tramway Blvd NE.
