Betsy Ann (Ross) Harrell

Harrell - Betsy Ann Ross 98, of Albuquerque, passed away September 19, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Sam L. Harrell of Clovis, New Mexico. They married in Washington, D.C. where they raised their two children, Patricia Ives Harrell Hoech, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Michael Ross Harrell, of Falls Church, Virginia. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Heather, Michael Jr., Matthew, and Natalie Harrell; three loving nieces, Bonnie, Nancy, and Diana; two grandnephews, Douglas and K.C.; her grandniece, Tricia; great-grandniece, Zoë; great-grandnephew, Elijah; and their families. Betsy served in Tokyo after WWII on the civilian staff of General MacArthur. She continued with the Army JAG Corp at the Pentagon until 1957. A member of the DAR, and the Episcopal Church, she was a lover of life, music, art, the ocean, golf, nature, beauty, and refinement. She encouraged an appreciation for all things lovely, practiced kindness and was gracious in every thought and deed. Interment will be at her family plot in Youngstown, NY.
