Bertha Louise Flores

d. July 4, 2017

Bertha Louise Flores, born May 7, 1971 in Albuquerque, NM was lost to us on July 4, 2017 in a tragic accident. To the moment of her passing, she was smiling and laughing. Bertha is survived by her husband, David Flores; her parents, Miguel and Fidelina Sanchez; grandmother, Paula Sanchez; her daughters, Monique and Stefani Sanchez; son, Pasquale Gallucci; step-son, Isaiah Flores; step-daughter, Savannah Flores; grandson, Armando Arellano; one brother, Michael Sanchez and wife, Celia; sisters, Diana Padilla and husband, Simon and Doris Casados and husband, Benjamin; many brothers and sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.

Bertha worked in sales. That being said, she epitomized the best and highest qualities of the profession. In life, she was a giant. Her personality and smile lit up and took over the room in the best of ways. She gave herself in any way possible to be of service to her colleagues, friends and family. Her love and devotion to her children and husband was only surpassed by her love and devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. She had love of nature, and enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, and most of all her cozy little cabin in the Jemez Mountains. She meticulously decorated and furnished it with the intent of making people feel like they were in a high quality resort. She traveled with her family to places far and wide. She wanted to see a volcano, so she saw one in Costa Rica. She wanted to see monkeys in the jungle, so she saw them in Belize. She loved marine life, and she saw whales and coral in Hawaii. She visited places like New York and Scotland, Boston and London, Chicago and Mexico, Florida and Paris.

Bertha, a woman with a reputation of unbound energy and a zest for life, had many home remodeling projects. She was either knocking down a wall or painting one. She was either building home-made lighting fixtures or decorating rooms for others. No one met Bertha and was unaffected by her jua de vive. Her laugh was contagious, and she had a way of convincing people to dance or sing in public, despite their initial reluctance. She took every opportunity to get the most out of life. No day was wasted. She will be missed and her memory will be cherished. Every person is unique, but as rare as her name, even more was her larger-than-life personality. Rest in peace, Bertha, we all love you. We know that you are in heaven, smiling on us all, eagerly waiting on our arrival. But, until then, our lives will never be the same.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2017, 11:00 a.m., at Calvary Albuquerque, 4001 Osuna Rd NE. Please visit our online guestbook for Bertha at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
