Bernie G. Caldwell

Bernie Caldwell, age 83, a life-long resident of Carnuel, NM died Tuesday, July 24, 2018.

He is survived by his son, Pat Caldwell and wife, Theresa; granddaughter, Kristen Caldwell; brother, Albino Caldwell and wife, Lucy; sisters, Flora Crutcher and husband, Earl, Tillie Caldwell, Ruby Griego, and Betty Caldwell; nieces and nephews, many friends; and his special friend, Janice Huntzinger. Bernie was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Veronica Caldwell; brothers, Eloy, Eusebio, Leroy, Sevedeo, and George Caldwell; and sisters, Grego Caldwell and Erminia Garcia.

Bernie served in the United States Navy proudly before returning to Albuquerque where he worked for the City of Albuquerque Refuse Department until his retirement. Bernie also volunteered for the Forest Service. He loved to go camping and fishing. Bernie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends may visit Sunday, July 29, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Cremation will follow with a Memorial Rosary being recited Friday, August 3, 2018, 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church in Tijeras. Interment will follow at the Old Carnuel Cemetery in Carnuel, NM.
