Bernardino "Bernie" Armijo, age 79, a lifetime resident of Golden, NM, died Tuesday, November 17, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Deborah; daughter, Anita; siblings, Eva A. Castillo, Beatrice Galaviz and husband, David, and Robert Armijo; nieces and nephews; and a large loving family and friends. Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolfo and Ursulita Armijo; and two brothers, Michael and Rudy Armijo. He was born in 1936 in Golden, NM and graduated from Albuquerque High. After graduation he entered the United States Army where he proudly served. Bernie was rebel with a code of honor who made an interreligious mixed marriage one of the strengths of his life and the lives of his wife and daughter. Ranching and riding his Harley were two of his passions. Graveside services will be Monday, November 23, 2015, 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with a Memorial Rosary and Mass to follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cerrillos, NM at 12:00 Noon. Pallbearers will be Robert Armijo, Martin Medina, Phillip Tapia, Pat Haskins, Michael Galaviz and Rick Montoya. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chuck Nelson, David Galaviz, and Bobby Armijo.
