Bernard John "Bernie" Mechenbier

Bernard John "Bernie" Mechenbier, 82, husband, father, grandfather, and long -time resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pat; daughter, Pamela Hainlin and husband, David, and their children, Evan, Zachary, and Christopher; daughter, Caryn De Rochie and husband, Tony, and their children, Randy and Sarah; siblings, Norb Mechenbier and wife, Tita, Mercedes Ray, and Vera Mae Gardiner, along with many extended family members and friends. Bernie's family moved to Albuquerque in 1948 and he graduated from St. Mary's in 1949. He proudly served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Among many of his accomplishments he was past president of Miller Metal Co. and owner of HVAC Consultants Inc. Bernie and his wife were instrumental in forming Prince of Peace Catholic Community. Services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel Ave. NE Albuquerque, NM 87122, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
