Benjamin Michael Galloway passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, at the age of 41 years old. He was born on Friday, October 31st, 1980, in Albuquerque, NM; the sixth child of Rodney George Galloway and Donna Pate Galloway. He grew up in Albuquerque, NM, attended Mark Twain Elementary School, Hayes Middle School and graduated early from Highland High School in 1998. Before graduating he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Benjamin's Eagle Project focused on family history. With the help of his mother, he compiled several one-page life histories of his older friends. He submitted a copy of his project to the Albuquerque Public Library under family histories. He served an honorable proselytizing Spanish-speaking mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tampico, Mexico. Benjamin attended Utah State University in Logan, UT and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Benjamin was known for his caring, inquisitive nature. He was someone who was truly enthusiastic about life despite his setbacks. He enjoyed being with his friends and family. His favorite pastimes were swing dancing, karate, working with his mother in the garden, and helping care for the chickens and guinea pigs.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Pate Galloway; older sister, Alisha Galloway; and older brother, Joseph Galloway. He is survived by his father, Rodney Galloway of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters, Rachel Galloway Miranda of San Antonio, TX, Brenda Galloway of Denver, CO, and Sarah Galloway of Mesa, AZ; and his nieces and nephews. He is remembered with much love by his family, siblings, relatives and friends. A visitation will take place Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, from 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH-University, and Interment at 12:30 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM.
