Barry David Rogers, 71, of Albuquerque, New Mexico died on April 15, 2022, of complications from metastatic prostate cancer. He leaves behind his wife, Mary Margaret, 63, three sons, one grandson, two granddaughters, two brothers, and many nieces and nephews.
Barry was born in La Lima, Honduras on January 30, 1951, and grew up in several Central American countries and the Dominican Republic. He graduated high school from Mount Herman prep school in Massachusetts and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he developed a life-long love of Husker football. After graduation he began working as a photo developer in Gallup, New Mexico, eventually moving to and running his own photo lab, Barry's Photo, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He married the mother of his children, Cheryl Rogers, in 1981. In 2005, his older brother, Bob, introduced him to Mary Margaret and they were married in 2006 and remained happily so until his death.
Barry was a sometimes grumpy curmudgeon with a marvelous sense of humor who could laugh Mary Margaret out of any bad mood. He loved football and fishing, and had a wonderful artistic sense shown in his photography and woodworking. Above all else, he valued family and loved each of them dearly.
